Sabrina has chosen the theme, Go West for this week's challenge in memory of John Wayne's passing in 1979 - this is very close to my heart as this was also the day of my own Dad's funeral. I was only 19 and I remember it as a very sad time in my life.
For my card I decided to try the faux denim technique. I used part of this as the background rectangle and cut out a pocket, too. Added the stitches with a gel pen and, after trying so many different things, eventually went with this prima flower sitting in the pocket and added the sentiment.
I adhered this to c/s which I had scored using the scorpal.

I hope you can find happy memories today, Sue. That's very young in life to lose a parent.
Your denim has certainly turned out beautifully, way better than it ever does for me!! And the red flower contrasts with it beautifully.

I didn't realize you had made the denim until I read the description. I thought that was cut DP! So great job, obviously!!! Love the overall layout of the card as well. Simple and sweet.
