There are my favorite mediums - copics, stencils, and white gel pens - and then there are the evil craft supplies with the gelli plate heading the list. It usually takes me 2 months to forget my last gelli disaster before I am back watching gelli plate tutorials... I even have a gelli tutorial board on pinterest. As usual, after spending way too much time, I ended up with acrylic paint everywhere and a trash can filled with ugly backgrounds. I did salvage 2 bgs for this card. I cut one card into half inch strips and reassembled them. It was still ugly, so I heat embossed the white flowers. I have been in a dot mood lately, so I added some enamel accents. It is hard to see, but there is some dry wall tape and cheese cloth around the bow. For the MIX 119 there is a lot of texture, and I used green and blue for the F4A272. TFL, Francie

Ugly? My gosh, this is GORGEOUS! The vibrant greens just pop out of the thumbnail, Francie. Thanks for the laughs in your description. Sounds SO familiar. 60 failures and one maybe! Sounds perfectly normal to me. We can't all be Barbara Gray, huh? I have no clue how you got the yellow in that background but this one is AWESOME!

Francie, this really is beautiful!! I love your white embossing and using strips for the background is very effective.
I'm reading what you say about throwing discards out, but I'm thinking of how Serendipity Squares just look like a hot mess till you cut the big sheet up into smaller squares or strips. I reckon you could try that with some of your rejects and they'd look fantastic.

Well it turned out beautifully! I don't know why you don't like it, in fact, it makes me want to get my Gelli plate out!! I haven't used it for ages!
I love how you took the bg and cut it in pieces. Love the white embossing and dots! Love the cheese clothe (I keep calling it gauze but it IS cheese clothe). Beautiful Francie!

I say keep all those old gelli prints and pull them out a different day..many times they look so much better after a break. Your reassembled "ugly" ones to me are so gorgeous..the colors are just A-MAZ-ING!! And the white embossed flowers are a scene stealer!!! LOVE this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, you did so much with that print! It looks fantastic. I'm still trying to find a use for my prints from a gelli plate session. Thanks for the inspiration.

I was just looking at the gelli tutorials. It is fun, but I never really like the prints off of it either. I never thought about cutting it in strips and arranging it differently. Or embossing over the top of it. Great card.
