I smashed and layered color on the panels. They started as white cardstock. I took one of the panels and embossed it using script embossing folder. I stamped a Martha Stewart butterfly on the back of the embossed cardstock, twice and cut out the butterflies. The panel under the butterfly was also white cardstock that I layered the blues and browns. I also used a gear stencil and a blue marker to add gears to the panel when it was wet. I also stamped the classified newsprint stamp over the top. I also added copper inka gold copper metallic rub using the gear stencil and my brayer. Textures on my card are the lace, twine, burlap, quilled rose, gears, embossed butterfly. You can read more about this card and see close up photos on My BLOG

Interesting-like how the pastel shades weave thru the deeper colors and then picked up again in the flowers.

That butterfly is just wonderful, MariLynn. Love the combination of gears and roses... Must go and see if the challenge is up now, it wasn't when I left home this morning.

I had to step back when I clicked on this one, MariLynn. What a gorgeous mixed media card this is. Oh wow, you brought so many different textures to the forefront.
