I was asked to make a sympathy card for a co-worker and wanted something CAS. I love this Susan's garden dogwood die, it's one of the simpler dies to use. I stenciled some pink ranger distress ink onto the card, then used some translucent paste over the ink. I then sprinkled some darker pink mica powder over the paste while it was still wet allowing it to stick to the paste.
Just realized I should also enter it for HLS stenciling challenge for April http://happylittlestampers.blogspot.ca/

Oh, I bet the mica powder gives a lovely soft shimmer. Is it easy to sprinkle? I was just thinking it was time I pulled this die out and made something with it; thanks for the extra motivating boost via this lovely sympathy card.

Beautiful sympathy card with your dogwood. The dogwood trees are in their glory here right now and are so lovely. Your design makes a lovely and dignified sympathy card.

This is so elegant! How beautiful your background is and love the idea of mica powders over the paste. The dogwood blossoms are so beautifully formed and colored!

So pretty Christine. Love the stenciled background ... can just imagine how it looks in real life where you can see the depth of the translucent paste. And those dogwoods are gorgeous ... love the sponged detailing. Thanks for playing along at Happy Little Stampers.
