This is for Lisa's super-fun TPT challenge this week ~ MMTPT343 Monkeyin' Around.
As soon as I saw her teapot, I knew I'd be getting out my old Mindy's Zoo set, I think they are the only monkeys I have. They came along to a tea-party several years ago - and actually I made a diorama card that time too. This time it was much easier since I have more supplies to play with ;-).
I followed the tutorial HERE, making it four inches high, and using two sizes of rectangle dies for cutting the apertures.
I embossed the blue back with a cloud ef and sanded it, and embossed the centre panel with the Textile ef, sanded it and sponged with a darker green.
I used flocking on the coconuts for extra texture; along with jungle grass in two colours, that sets the scene for my pair of monkeys and their giraffe friend.
Images stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with inktense pencils. I die-cut some foliage and used that as a vine for one of the monkeys to hang from, and added two little birds hanging from nylon thread.
Thanks, Lisa, I had such fun making this.

I have made one diorama in my life before the days of my digital camera and so could not scan it in)!! I know they are a bit labor intensive, but OH MY!! This is just the most adorable little scene with oodles and oodles of fun and dimension. You did an amazing job cutting out and hanging that one monkey from the tree and the birds in the bg are adorable. Such a cute, cute, creation. Love the fore palm tree and giraffe as well. AWESOME job on this, Sabrina. It really stands out and is outstanding

This diorama is such fun, Sabrina! I love the giraffe (I collect them) and the two monkeys, especially the upside-down guy, swinging by his tail! What a fabulous card for this challenge.
