The October challenge on the SCS Christmas Card Challenge is to do cards for other holidays that occur at the same time as Christmas. I chose New Year for this one.
I coloured a background with Distress stains, then stamped and heat embossed the sprigs and sentiment with regular white embossing powder. I then rubbed my white ink pad along the bottom edge and heat embossed with Stampendous Shabby White embossing enamel - it's a mix of chunky white and little bits of gold embossing powder - I really like the effect it gives. After doing the bottom edge, I decided to sprinkle of bit of it over the whole card. Because this didn't have any pigment ink to hold it on the card, I carefully heated it from underneath so that it didn't blow off - it melts and sticks to the cs.
