This is for the WT challenge today, to use something favorite...I love to knit! Wish I had a few more hours in the day so I could knit everyday...and also for one of the HYCCT challenges...to show the love w/o using the phrase "I love you".
I die cut the beautiful doily out of some handmade ivory paper IÂ’ve had for a long time. I die cut the center out of the ivory & again out of the dp & added the little flower centers of the navy dp into the ivory version. The dp was cut first with a matting basics die then w/ a curved border die & added on top of more of the handmade ivory paper. The bottom portion that was cut off was turned over (itÂ’s double sided paper) & attached on the bottom. The greeting was stamped in the open section. The knitting basket & yarn images were stamped, lightly colored w/ Copics & die cut w/ the matching dies.
Thanks so much for looking! It's also on my blog: The Write Stuff

No wonder that doily looks so wonderful...........it's cut using handmade paper! It's been a long time since I have made paper (now I want to try it again) I love everything about this card.......the doily, the papers and the knitting basket and all in a beautiful monochromatic card!

What a lovely card! I really like the texture of that doily from handmade paper. It makes my want to reach out and touch it like a warm hand knit sweater does. Blue and white is such a pleasing combination and you have made full use of it here. Love your card!

Beautiful card. Warm and fuzzy knitting image. Everything ties in so well - the colour, die cut doily and the little tiny buttons. Very sweet. Caught my eye straight away.

Cutting your die cut from textured CS really gives it the appearance of crocheted lace, Julie....brilliant! Your bg DP couldn't match it any better. Love ho9w you included the knotting basket to show you other crafty pastime.
