Made for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenges 2014 - Get Smooshed
We were asked to use a smooshing technique to make our backgrounds. Surprisingly this was one technique I didnÂ’t have a stash of samples to choose from but that was soon remedied. I picked out something that looked okay but it just wasnÂ’t WOWing me IÂ’m afraid. When in doubt, emboss it!! Blended a little ink onto the raised parts to make it sing. I then paper pieced my flowers with a scrap of the same background.

Funny you should talk about WOWing, because that was the first thing that came to mind when I laid eyes on this - WOW! Your bg is spectacular, Theresa, the colours are fabulous and the texture brings them to life even more - beautiful image too!

Oh my goodness -- what a cool effect you added!!! Love that you added ink to the raised areas - I am going to have to give this a try! I absolutely LOVE the results! Thank you so much for joining in the HYCCT fun with my challenge! :-)

Oh my this is gorgeous! I love paper piecing but I wouldn't have thought to use that technique with these rather free form flowers. It looks fabulous! Love the embossing as well. That was an inspired idea!
