It has been awhile since I did my "challenge hoarding thing". I cramed 4 challenges into this card. The obvious one is Robins fun F4A239 to use birds. I LOVE bird motifs, especially goofy birds like these. For Sabrina's TLC500 she gave us a terrific stamp etching technique. It is easier to see IRL, but all of the leaves have stamp etching. Out of my HUGE collection of stamps, not a single outline leaf stamp could be found. I have a outline palm tree so I amputated the trunks and used the tops as leaves. Now for the CAS291, to CASE a card from Brenda's terrific gallery. I NEVER CASE cards because of a purely technical reason ( or in my case, an abscense of technical ability). I can only upload photos from my tablet and not from my lap top. However, I can't do those hyperlink things on my tablet...everyone roll their eyes and think "it's a wonder she can dress and feed herself". So,I don't CASE things since I can't link to the origional. But I just had to do this one. I saw this great card by Brenda recently and loved it. And, as we all say over and over, I have that stamp (the hang in there sign) and have never used it. Brenda's card is from Sept 15 and is called "CAS290 Hang in there". I kept the layout with the scallop square frame and the sign hanging from the main image. I changed the colors from red and pink to tropical colors. I changed the clothes line with clothes to a vine with birds. The final challenge was the MMTPT321 to make cards to cheer up Greg who is batteling cancer. Greg is an english teacher so our theme was reading. Since many famous books take place after being ship wrecked on a tropical island (Treasure Island, Robinson Crusoe, Swiss Family Robinson), I did these tropical birds. TFL and have a great rest of the week, Francie

Francie, I love the way you think! These birds are so colorful and cheerful! Brilliant idea to create leaves with the palm tree stamp. I love how you adapt your stamps to create the look you are after. Love the cross hatching on those leaves! Your description is as fun to read as it is to see your awesome card!

Francie, this is terrific...and all those challenges too!! You have such a flair for color that your cards are ALWAYS a standout in any gallery. These exotic birds demonstrate that SO well. Fun, fun card of encouragement.

Oh wow - how beautiful! I need to see something bright and happy like this today. I love your etched leaves and your bright tropical birds on the desert island (neat take on the TPT challenge). Hopefully by Friday I'll be able to get along to the party. The framing and dimension is really wonderful too. Thanks for the big smile .
Oh, I love the colors on your birds!!! This is gorgeous!!! I love that you have the same "hang in there" stamp as Brenda! This card is sure to CHEER Greg!!! You did an amazing job combining challenges!
