When I saw that Dina's challenge, Hold Onto Your Hope, was to feature something with a handle, I thought of Umbrella Man right away. I knew I wanted to go in a drippy, mixed media direction and I used one of my favorite tips I've learned from Dina. I keep a piece of cheap white cardstock on my desk when I'm stamping and it collects stamped off images, sprays, sponging, etc as it serves as my work surface. This one had mostly greys and browns with a bit of blue sponged through dry wall mesh. I stamped my sentiment, and then I used my dauber to add acrylic paint to the top of this piece. I quickly spritzed with water to get my drips going. I didn't want them to run off my page, so I used my heat gun to dry them before they hit bottom. I added my die cut sun and then my umbrella man with his edges sponged a bit to help him stand out. Hope a patient can put this masculine card to use!

Love this - from the grey drippies to the stamped die cut and everything in between. Thank you so much for making a sample for me, even with your own grey skies. Hugs to you! xo

Picturing you catching the drips with your heat gun, laughing!! I am glad you used this image of Umbrella Man - I almost did, then knew I could not do a card as cool as this. Sure this will be put to great use at MDA hospital.
