I combined Joan's TLC to curve the verse & Jen's CAS team spirit challenges today. I had to think for a while about the team spirit & what the meaning of team is. Here is why I chose a nurse image. Way back when I was in nursing school & early in my nursing career the concept was 'team leading'. It wasn't until I was in the OR & part of the 'on call team' that I was once again team nursing!! That spanned a lot of years!!
I picked this cute little PI from MFT for my image. She reminds me so much of nursing school & how disappointing it was to start the year after they discontinued the 'blues' - a blue uniform with a starched white bib & apron! Of course we wore white shoes too, not black & our caps had no red cross! I digress, no need for me to go down memory lane here.
Since I was missing the blues, I colored her uniform with Marina Mist. Cut her in an oval & mounted onto a scallop oval of Marina Mist. then I pulled out this really old SU dsp. I think this is kind of like the sketch the CAS team spirt gals used too - unintentional.
For Joan's curve the verse, I cut my stamp in half - YIKES! But it wasn't really harmed and it worked, except I got a touch of blue on her white apron!
Thanks for stopping by & 'listening' to me chat on & on about the old days! I know some of you remember!

Darling, darling card, Karen. I, personally, enjoyed your trip down memory lane. you were indeed a part of a VERY important team when you did your nursing. And I agree, Good friends are the BEST medicine.
Adorable!!! My first thought when I saw your nurse was that it takes a team to restore a body to health!! Loved your story. Maybe we subconsciously inspired your design? Great card!!!

She is adorable....my mom was a nurse in the days of white hose, white uniforms with the red cross pin, and, of course, that starched cap that I had to take to the Chinese Laundry!!! Thanks for the memories.
Now, as to this adorable little nurse...love her uniform! Love your card!

My niece just got her Nursing degree, so I certainly understand the 'team' work here. Love her little uniform and loved the trip with you down memory lane.
