This is a second version of the card I posted yesterday. Boy did that card bother me...the flowers just seemed wrong. The card is "outdoorsy - nature in the country" and the big blue flowers were "shaby chic- victorian". So, after obsessing about it all day at work, I made a second card last night. This is the one I am going to mail to a fellow teapotter. Plus, these flowers will survive snail mail much better...sometimes my mail looks like it has been on an around the world journey on the back of a camel. It is hard to see, but some of the flowers are popped up on pop dots. Anyway, I love to wander in nature, and if everyone at summer camp was supposed to be involved in a certain activity, I usually prefered to search for pinecones or cool rocks. On a rare Sunday a few weeks ago, my 2 best buddies - my teenage sons Josh and Brad, and my Dh and I were all available. We packed a picnic lunch and went on a hike. My sons and I did what we have done since they were little...noses to the ground looking for rocks and pretty things from nature. The bigger areas of the image (water, rocks and grass) are colored with copics. The girl and her clothes are done with prisma pencils. I ALWAYS have trouble with copics bleeding out of the lines. I spend most of my time fixing this with the blender pens. Since copics are hard for me, I usually take the easier road and use pencils. I have been so amazed and inspired by everyone eleses work with copics that I have decided to try to practice by using them in less detailed areas of some cards. Have a fantastic weekend, and TFL,Francie

I really liked the blue flowers and white foliage - but I can see what you mean about these ones being more outdoorsy. I love the autumn colours in the flowers even if I'm not ready for them in real life yet.

Have not seen the other card yet but this is cute--reminds me of when young hmmmm a while ago and use to wade in creek and get bit by the crabs. Cute card for sure.

This is so cute! Wonderful, saturated colors (I love color!). Reminds me of my childhood - we had a super brook running through our property, although you would never have caught me wearing a dress!

I'm glad I read what you wrote as at first I thought I was losing my mind. I remembered commenting on your beautiful card and yet here it was with no comment from me! I can see you are a perfectionist but if something is bugging you and you can easily fix it. I agree..by all means fix it.

Oh I am so stoked that your family had that great day together and you still did the activities like you used to...how sweet is that. Both your cards are adorable and so wonderfully colored, you did so well with the pencils AND the copics...way to go. I have heard they take a bit to get used to, but you are so on the way...awesome. Your wood bg is gorgeous under your beautiful girl, makes it stand out so well. LOVE it...TFS..:0)
