I love matting my images so this week's Ways to Use It challenge is perfect for me. One of Toni's suggestions was to use different shapes for our mats so rather than matting with a slightly larger plain circle, I matted with a Spellbinders Fleur de Lis circle.
My image and sentiment are stamped and heat embossed in gold. I got a big smudge of ink next to the bird so saved it by fussy cutting it out and mounting it on a white cs circle. I did the Fleur de Lis mat in gold cs. The lower left part of the white circle looked a bit bare so I added 3 random gold pearls.
It's also for my August quota for the SCS Christmas Card Challenge and its special challenge of monochrome cards. And for the Fan Club challenge for July Christmas cards "Joy Joy Joy".

Very pretty - and a wonderful CAS Christmas card. You've reminded me that I sometimes used to use the Lotus Pendant for layering. You've finished your August quota - I'm envious! I need to count mine, I think I'm only halfway through July.
