For this week's Mixability challenge (Mix11), we were to use negative die cuts as frames and/or stencils.
The Topnote frame was in my stash, left over from a previous project. I used a negative Labels 5 as a negative mask and sponged with 3 shades of yellow. I removed the mask and used a negative from a Sizzlets Little Leaves die cut as a stencil to make the bg, sponging with Cajun Craze. This was the hard part for me as I'm just not comfortable with "random" imaging. But it was a lot of work, so I decided to just go with it. The middle still needed something, but I didn't want to cover up too much of that bg. I stamped the butterfly with Versamark and heat embossed with copper ep.
I never toss negatives, but use them all the time so that part was easy. I ran into difficulty trying to make this a mixed media card. I hope sponging plus heat embossing qualify.
This card also fits AOCC13G to make a card based on our favorite season, mine being fall.
