I made 42,000 attempts at duplicating this weeks teapot, sadly the outcome was not a happy one. I then attempted making cakes, the result was equally disasterous. So I went back to basics, put my apron on and rolled my sleeves up.
OK it is not a teapot or a cake, but the colours are here, circles (ah well I know they are really spots) and a whole lot of love.
I cut the shape of an apron, gave it a few gentle scores and inked the creases to look like pleats. I added paper lace trim and popped a real piece of lace in the pocket. To incorporate gold (like on the teapot) I added some gold twine and goldy coloured ribbon. To get a few circles happening, I rounded the corners and finished the card and apron off with faux stitching using a dark brown Micron pen.
Thanks for looking.

We have all come across one of those days, Susie! Sometimes the mojo just doesn't happen.......Your apron idea is really sweet, great looking faux stitching, nicely added gold and pretty accents~

How clever - I think the scores are a great take on the little tray that the teapot is on! I must confess that when I use an apron it tends to get very dirty (I manage to stay cleaner without one!), but a pretty apron is perfect when it comes to serving time. This reminds me of one my mother once made me with lacy trim - it's just sweet.
