For HYCCT1227, Kittie's challenge to create a card with a Window of Hope. You may use window die cuts, window stamps, pictures of windows, hand cut a window using your craft knife, sketching a window, painting a window. The sky is the limit.
I wouldn't normally put a window cut in a brick wall in a card with a window frame, but I messed up the brick wall (badly). There was already so much work involved that I just had to salvage it somehow. All in all, I don't think it turned out too badly.
The tree image behind the window was generated by layering a png image with a transparent background over a small-print wallpaper image in Photoshop. Stardust and Glaze pens were used on the garland and ornaments, but the transparency in the window cutout makes it hard to see. The window and shutters were sanded so they would coordinate with the sponging on the brick. Normally I would have used dimensionals to mount this on the back side of the card front, but there wasn't room for the card to close! So it is flush to the card front...
The window in the card front and the frame around it were die cut, and the strip of matching green cs was edged with a holly punch and embossed with the Swiss Dots ef. The corners were punched with the holly corner punch and also embossed. The sentiment, which reads "from our house to yours", was stamped on ivory cs and diecut and sponged. I cut two extra tags and layered them together for dimension. I cut the legs of the brads and attached them to the tag with Glossy Accents.

Jody, I always refer to things not always working out the way I plan as a happy mistake. You may be frustrated but I think your window is gorgeous and I love that wonderful Christmas tree. Thanks for playing in my challenge.
