Today Anne gave us a fantastic site for our inspiration challenge - Magpie. There were several images that inspired me, but I chose 2 to combine in this card:
I created the background grid by using a ruler and gray marker for the grid lines, cutting out 2 sizes of circles and then using the negative to color in various circles randomly over the grid lines with copics.
I need your opinion: do you think this would "fly" for a "guy" card ? My husband says only if I want to damage him for life
Thanks so much for taking a closer look. Hope you like it

Now I disagree...there are many a fellow out there that are birding enthusiasts, but your dh's comment made me laugh! LOL! Love your goldfinches and I'll bet that feeder is just full of thistle! ;) Wonderful card!

Ha, your hubby is hilarious, Barb! I do think this would be suitable for a guy...it's nature...good for anyone right? Love your cute little bird feeder image...great coloring!

I love the way you made the grid! I think it depends on the guy and the occasion. My dad would agree with your DH, but my FIL wouldn't think anything amiss. I myself might use it for a guy, especially if it were accompanying a bird feeder for a gift or something like that. My two cents

Not only is this card gorgeous, but it would be totally appropriate for a guy! After all... birds are loved by all and gray is definitely a guy color...even if gray and yellow is a very popular combo right now! Love how you created your background!

Let me just ask you this: Since when do DH's know anything about art? I think your card is wonderful. I'm amazed at the phenomenal precision of our layers. I think this is a wonderful card for anyone, including your husband.

Sweet image, Barb...and colored so beautifully. I like how you outlined it in blue to really make it pop. The grays and yellows are such a lovely color palette and what a super DP you created to put with your design.
