This is a CAS card I made for a dear stamping friend to celebrate Independence Day. Inspiration for the layout of this card came from resqbarbie in a card she did for CAS177:
I was so impressed with the sheer elegance of her design - the white on white panel with the image tucked in a partial nestie cutout was brilliant. And not as easy thing to achieve when switching out elegant white for fire engine red....such are the things one learns by doing!
The only thing out of the ordinary on this card is the sparkley filiment that is nestled at the base of the flag. I found this remant in my DH's flyfishing discard pile, it was just begging to be recycled! It's called Flashibo in the fly shops and is used to tye flies that attract salmon. It very flexible and moves and glimmers with the slightest shake of the card - looks just like sparklers!
Happy Birthday, America, land that I love!
Thanks for taking the time to look at this card.
