Browsing through the IC site for today, came across this image and knew I just had to play....partly because I had the perfect image to use!.....details....
Printed out my DJ Inkers perfect for this card image, colored with prisma pencils and gamsol....still working on this coloring technique. Popped up parts then spritzed it with some shimmering frost. Set aside.
Saw this and knew I had my bg.....since I just love black and white checks. So I sketched the bg then colored it in with a sharpie.
Quick story, while doing the bg my parakeet learned a new trick. You see he lives in an antique bird cage with bars a tad to wide so I have had to put extra screens on to keep him in. Well he never goes to the bottom of the cage, so I didn't put extra screens there. WELL today he went to the bottom in the back of the cage, proceeded to squeeze out then walked around the cage to the front where he went back in. My DH saw him do this, told me about it but I didn't believe him UNTIL I saw him do it twice more! I sure hope he forgets this new trick soon or I am going to have to go get extra screening!
Well thanks Julie and Stef for another fun IC site! Have a great day everyone, me I will be keeping an eye on that crazy bird of mine! hehe.....TFL :0)

Love it -- I also have a great image for this one -- but, I am working on a dinosaur card -- so maybe later tonight for the challenge. . .

Ok my eight year old granddaughter is looking at the cards with me today. She picked yours out immediately as her favorite. You know kids are totally honest. Love how you did the bg. Perfect with your image. tfs

Ha! Evidently you can teach an old bird new tricks! Made me smile, Cathy, and your card too...I can't believe you made that bg with a Sharpie!! Makes your card just POP out of the gallery!

Cathy, FABULOUS card!! The bg reminds me of the op art of Victor Vasarely from the mid 20th century. Then there is your cute carload of party animals. LOVE it!!
Very neat card! I can't believe you did that BG with a sharpie! I'm pretty sure my eyes would be crossed if I tried it! What a great BG for the fun car full of critters!
