What a wonderful blog for today's Inspiration Challenge! I spent a long time there and after I selected 3 for use as my inspiration, I realized that all 3 had almost identical color palettes. So I guess I was influenced more by the colors than anything else. The one I focused on is 08.11.2011. I just adore these colors! I wanted that blotchy color splatter seen in the table and I never quite got it, but this was as close as I could come.
In order to get my colors, I used some inexpensive water color paper and 4 colors of acrylic paints: 2 of the coral/peach and two of the aqua/teal. On the two solid bgs, I wet the paper then floated in the 2 colors w/ a very wet paintbrush. I wanted that watery, splotchy look. On the patterned bg, I used all 4 colors then stamped on top w/ the crochet border and the teal ink.
On some of the coral, I stamped the lg silhouette label and die cut it. I cut out the oval center, added a teal oval and put it back w/ a little strip underneath. The largest coral layer has a corner image stamped w/ the coral chalk ink. The finished card is 5.5 x 4.25.
My blog:The Write Stuff. Sorry! I had to delete a bunch of really old posts from my blog & this is one of them. Thanks so much for looking!
