Betty Wright asked us to make a card based upon our favorite flowers. I hesitate to pick one, because I love almost all flowers and feel as though I'd be "cheating on" the others if I picked one. That having been said, cosmos and zinnias are like wonderful friends. If you nurture them they stay with you all season. The more you need them (ie cut them) the more that they stay around. They can put up with a lot and still look beautiful.
Stamped the image from Flourishes Zinnias in Memento Tuxedo Black on Flourishes white CS and colored with Copics. Cut with a circle Nestie and sponged lightly. Matted with another Nestie in Sugar Rush DP. Added a strip of more Sugar rush matted with Almost Amethyst and a strip of Amethyst with a strip of MS eyelet border punch. Tied the gingham ribbon. Ran a GKD Sweet Corn card through a TH EF and mounted all. Added a few Stickles to the flower centers. This is based upon the DTGD11 challenge offered by Kharmagirl. PT - 3
Thank you so much for looking. Have a peaceful day.

Very pretty, Marzi. I love zinnias but have a terrible time with them. I think it is the humidity here and they always mildew. Maybe I could get some mildew resistant ones but don't think I've seen them at the nurseries around here. I love bouquets of them. What a pretty ribbon, too.

I love zinnias too - I have never grown them, but my Mom has tons and tons of them growing in her backyard next door. My aunt planted some this year and the rain washed them all over her back yard - she even had them coming up in the cracks around her swimming pool - it was the coolest thing. Beautiful and bright card - super cheery and well done!
