This week's ODBD challenge is to use this phrase as inspiration:
You're a grand ole flag, you're a high flying flag
you can pick out a word, a few words or the whole phrase as your inspiration.
I chose the words "high flying" as my inspiration. I used this great scripture since it has the words "I will uphold you" in it which seemed to fit perfectly with this challenge. I need his help in this respect all the time - thankfully and gratefully, He is always there.
I used balloons because they played a big part of my childhood and young adult years. I grew up in Albuquerque which always has skies full of balloons. I was part of a balloon team for awhile in my early 20s and got to ride them all over the Southwest - those were some magical moments. There was one day in Colorado when we almost crashed in the side of the mountain. The pilot told us he wasn't sure we would make it, and we braced ourselves - the Lord put those lead ropes straight in the hands of our ground team members who had quickly climbed through a bunch of trees to try and save us. We weren't hurt and the balloon was saved as well.
I used a broken earring for my large balloon just to copy Pamzi

What an amazing story! Even though it is scary, in retrospect I'm sure you feel very safe and cared for by the Father. I used to skydive, 'til DH and I began dating seriously...it made him too nervous. He did get me a balloon ride for my birthday one year and went along even tho' he hates high places - truly an act of love! Speaking of love, I love, love love the re-purposed jewelry and button. They make perfect balloons!!! Love the DP choice and the comforting scripture. Beautiful card in every way, Nancy!
