Well folks this is not my usual over embellished card upload. My dear Mom recently asked me for another stack of cards for her all occasion card box to send to family and friends. She is basically shut in and doesn't get out-but she loves to send cards (apple doesn't fall too far from the tree does it...lol) So I had to make these to fit an envelope for 44 cents not the $1.71 it cost me to send a card. I tried to keep them pretty basic.
The flower is from Fred She Said and comes with a variety of sentiments to use as the center for the flowers. I just used a Martha Stewart punch for the borders and distress inked the edges.
So these are going off to Mom in a box with some more chocolate (I will have to put ice packs in the box this time as it won't make it to Connecticut from Georgia with the heat and humidity here). My Mom is now down to 80 pounds. I might have to go up there and start feeding that woman peanut butter and milk shakes!!!
Thanks for stopping by. I have had computer problems since the weekend and haven't been around too much. I am borrowing a computer to post this. Hopefully I can catch up with everyone soon.

Wow, what a great set!! You may say "basic" about these, but I think they are absolutely fantastic. Your mom is sure to love them--especially that she can send them for a single first class stamp! Great design and great thinking. You are a gem of a daughter to keep your mom in cards.

You mean to tell me this is your CAS card???? Okay, if you say so. Your mom will fall in love with these Carol. Bet she'll want to keep them for herself rather than send them to people - no one is getting' hold of the card you sent me I'll tell you that right now. Whether CAS or not, you are top notch that's for sure. WOW!

P.S. I'm sorry to hear your mom is so low in weight. Chocolate never hurts, does it? I'm also sorry about your computer. Everything shuts down without them unfortunately! Hugs!

These are lovely cards, Carol. I love how you did your ribbon. Thank you for sharing them. I will probably CASE these. I make sets of cards for my Mom, too. She live in a seniors apartment complex, and gives just about everyone in the whole complex birthday cards. Keeps me busy!

I love these and I love that you made them for your Mother! I can't believe you were able to make a card that only costs 44 cents to mail - especially after watching your strawberry recipe book video (I am sure that one weighs at least 10 lbs). I am sorry she has lost more weight - I think chocolates are a great thing to send her but I am sure that if you visited her and cooked for her for awhile she would gain some weight (I am basing that on those recipes you included in your straweberry book - none of them were light on calories). Love this set, and I am sending hugz and prayers up for your Mom.

Carol, those doodledallions are too cute and you've made them so colorful and pretty. I see why you're sending your Mom so much chocolate...besides the fact that she loves them...she must get some weight on. I am sure your cards cheer her to no end. You're such a wonderful, loving daughter.
