I used distress inks for the direct to paper technique. Here is the tutorial: Direct To Paper (DTP) Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers. I wasn't happy with the full sized background I made, so I ended up using it in different pieces. I also did some piercing for the first time. To get the square pattern, I used a corner of the rubbery waffle-weave shelf liner and a thumbtack. That was fun and I definitely will do some more with the piercing.
