Well Stef you did it again, another fine IC site. I was inspired by two. this one and this one .....the how to's...
I used a technique my sister first taught me way back when I first started getting into stamping and card making. Not sure what it is called, but it is a faux suede technique. Hey, maybe that's what it is called. hehe You brayer liquid applique on cs then heat. Amazing results and so easy.
After doing that I stamped the bicycle image, paper pierced three sides and rounded the top edge thus making it look like a wallet.
My bg was done by sponging on the stripes with denim ink. Then put gold on the edges.
Buttons are also faux. Layered three circles, punched some holes then gold embossed. Twisted up some wire and Wal-La! All this was put on a black AC card.
What fun this was. Hope you like it. Thanks for ALL your comments. I truly appreciate each and everyone....TFL :0)
Hi Sis! Hi NC Sis!
P.S....no cows were hurt in the making of this, after all it is "faux" suede leather. hehe Curt is relieved.

The faux suede technique worked so well and the wire handle is the perfect embellishment. So glad you went the pretend route or else Curt might have banded his brothers together for a rally.

LOVE your "suede-ette" wallet, Cathy! : ) This is such a sedate card for you....but it is WONDERFUL! You captured your 2 inspirations perfectly! Love the wallet and the stripes.....and your 3 marvelous buttons. GREAT card!

Cool bicycle stamp and a great take on the inspiration. I reckoned this was one trend I didn't need to get in, but today I could certainly have done with a stamp like this. I love that striped background, too.

Cathy,
This is really very cool - have not tried this technique yet. I love the DP you created for the BG and your awesome faux leather vintage looking image.

Great adaptation of the inspiration piece - Curt is relieved to be sure - but I think he was in no danger whatsoever, since the coloring is all wrong...
It sure looks like a wallet with the stitching and corners - now you can send money!

I came running....cuz Curt is all up in a tizzy! For some reason, he is a little apprehensive! He things you might be turning on him for the sheer purpose of a stamping technique! I called him down, explained what faux is.....
