I was away for a long weekend, so I didn't have a chance to honor QFTD Kim aka Luv Flowers. My profound apologies, as there have been few more deserving Queens. Kim is kind and generous with her comments, very supportive of those of us developing our skills and of course a cardmaker extraordinaire. Kim's gallery is chock full of beautiful work, so if you haven't had a chance to peek around, I urge you to do so. I chose this one to CASE: WT308, A Day Hemmed in Prayer... by Luv Flowers at Splitcoaststampers
I decided to incorporate the WT313 challenge to use felt, but kept the sewing theme, layout and many of the design elements. Cut the small shamrocks with the Sizzix originals die, traced and cut the back shamrocks. Sewed the two together with varying degrees of success. Punched Flourishes white CS with MS border punch, sewed it to an orange piece from BG Lime Rickey and a piece of quilt binding. PC generated the sentiment and cut with a nestie, mounted on a technique tile. Paper pierced. Ran the bright green CS through a Tim Holtz EF. Pierced the green Lime Rickey DP and the embossed CS, mounted all on a Flourishes white card. Added the white dots to connect the piercing on the top and bottom. Stitched the button to the shamrocks with bakers twine then mounted with scor-tape. Added twine to the other buttons and adhered with glue dots. Made the bow with two colors of green bakers twine and attached with a glue dot. Stamped the small shamrock from Flourishes Irish Blessing in Versamark behind the sentiment, mounted the Technique tile and done.
This is a card for a very special stamper who had better not be peeking. If she is, know that it will probably be late. I could not work in 40 shades of green, but I counted at least 12. PT 4.
Congratulations, Kim on your reign as queen - I hope that you have enjoyed it! Thank you so much for looking and have a peaceful day.

Thank you so much for making this card for my reign as queen. You are too sweet with all of your comments. What a very special card this is with all of your hand and machine sewing. WOW!! I love the beautiful green shamrock. As I've said to some, St. Patrick's Day holds some special joy to me because of my father. I liked seeing this card today very much. Thank you Marie for taking the time; I appreciate it. :>)

Fantastic felt shamrocks, Marzi!! Wow, this is a stunning card and you've included so many fantastic details. The stitching and baker's twine are especially fab!

WOW, that is sooo cooool Marzi. Everything about it wreaks St. Patrick's Day. What a lucky stamper to receive this one. The dp, shamrocks, buttons and twine kick this up a notch. Great job!
