I got this idea from a Hero Arts Catty. The striped band going down the middle is actually a way to close the card. To open, you just slide it off. The card opens from the center

Hi Stamplady and Schneiderrc -
This card is actually quite easy to make. Cut an 8.5x11 in piece of paper in half to make a card, but instead of folding it in half like usual, put scores at 2 & 5/8 inches from each edge. Then fold these to the the center. Then cut a 1 and 5/8 inch by 11 inch srip of paper and layer it to 1 and 7/8 inch by 11 piece of paper. Put a couple of score marks in it to match the size of the card. Glue the strip together so it won't flop apart and then slide onto your card. This keeps the card front from popping open and it's a neat presentation to your recipient. Hope that helps you understand how to do it!
