Here is a card and envelope for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge that starts today. The beautiful butterfly image is a digi from Priscillastyles.
I went out of my comfort zone with the colors this time around. I don't use orange all that much except for in the fall....but I love the look of this. I used plain ole magic marker to color my butterfly then applied Tea Dye Distress Ink from Rangers all over it. Used crystal effect on top of the butterfly and then sprinkled fine glitter on the butterfly.
The flowers were also tea dyed distress inked and then I applied glue and diamond dust to them for a frosted look. I do want to mention that I did heat emboss my butterfly with a Zig Emboss Pen and Black EP. It was pretty cool how it came out.
Rangers Distress Spiced Marmalade and Peeled Paint ink was used around different edges of the cardstock.

What a beauty in orange!!!! I use very little orange, too but look what you did with it. You pulled off a magnificent creation. The butterfly is outstanding not to mention those wonderful pearls and punches. Being the recipient of two of your cards and envies, I know the details that go into your creations and they are awesome!!!!!!

Oooooooooooooooooo! I just love the citrus-y colors, Bearzi!! The orange looks awesome with green. Gorgeous treatment on the butterfly, too Your layered flowers look lovely, and that pearl flourish is so classy. The text BG behind the butterfly looks really cool. So nicely done, Carol!! I adore this

WOWZERS! Absolutely gorgeous colors! The butterflies are exceptionally beautiful... the curve of the wings adds so much dimension. LOVE that tiny butterfly border, especially on the envie DP. There're so many wonderful details to this beauty... can't quit looking at it!

Carol, I would never have thought to use these colors either. I am in awe of what you've created today. I cant believe you used so many resources to make your butterfly come alive. Of all your amazing cards, girl, I would have to say this is just the most gorgeous of all. It's hard to take my eyes off this beauty. There's so much goin' on here, but it all came together beautifully. Oh my, this is just about as close to drop dead gorgeous as one could get.
