Congrats, Sue, on being the Queen for a Day! I thought about doing some yard work, but only briefly, lol. It really clouded up all of a sudden and looked like rain, so I think I'll wait til another day. Instead, I made this card for the Queen for a Day (QFTD05) challenge. My friend Sue (aka coffeestamper) is the Queen so I cased one of her cards. It was a tough choice, but I finally zeroed in on We Can Build a Snowman. I liked the layers and horizontal orientation and I really love the punch work. Since Sue's card was a sketch, I altered it slightly so mine wouldn't be the sketch. I moved the punched greenery to right and made my main panel larger.
I stamped the floral spray twice, masked one and stamped the frame. The quote was stamped in the center and after masking the edges, I sponged on a little baby pink and soft yellow inks. I used markers and a blender to color the frame and both groups of flowers. I cut out the pink flowers from the second image, used a stylus on the back and attached them over the base image. I added some punched greenery, a tiny butterfly and a dragonfly. Stickles was added on top.
An eyelet border out of the blush c/s was added along the bottom of the quote and I used an Iron Gate border/corner punch set on the textured cranberry layer. Everything was assembled and attached to a 5.5 x 4.25 (A2) blush card. (This c/s came scored like this. I've had it so long, I don't remember where I bought it.)
Thanks so much for looking! My blog:The Write Stuff. Sorry! I had to delete a bunch of really old posts from my blog & this is one of them.

Outstanding card! I see you found the iron gate punch. I believe just a week ago you commented on my FS card that you could only find the corner. Glad you have it located. What a lovely card for a Mother.

OMG - how incredibly beautiful this is! Love the layers and texture, the iron gate border and the lovely sentiment. This should be framed... it's a piece of art that should be on permanent display.
