I went to a Zentangle workshop today, so had tangling on my mind when I read the inspiration challenge--and my home state of Texas is *always on my mind...* as Willie might sing...
If you are interested in the technique check out zentangle.com I'm just a beginner, so my little piece of art is a poor example of the beautiful things I have seen there. For one thing, coloring it is a bit unorthodox, I think.
The watercolor paper I used for the BG was a scrap from DD's watercolor test paper. I love to incorporate those into card BGs!

I remember looking zentangles up when there was a thread about them a while back. Yours sure looks great coloured - this card really caught my eye when I popped into the gallery this morning.

Whoa girl, I knew as soon as I saw that 'Texas Forever' sentiment, you're a true Texan through and through. I'll have to check out that site because I've never heard of this technique. Your card is fabulous with that paper pieced state and stamped ribbon. I think it's great, beginner as you say or not.
