More cards for the 2010 Christmas Card challengeÂ…IÂ’m getting closer to filling my box for the soldiers thanks to this challenge.
I used a combo of methods for coloring:
-Prismacolor pencils, baby oil and paper stumps were used to color part of the image using the Gamsol technique found in the resources section here at SCS. Baby oil replaces the Gamsol.
-I also used same pencils and a blender pen for some of the smaller areas.
-The blue shadowing was done with chalk and a blender pen.
-The die cut snowflakes and stars were glued to the card with AleeneÂ’s tacky glue. To make the process fast and easy for those small stars I squeeze glue onto a waxed paper (I repurpose the paper that stickers and labels are purchased on), then touch the end of a large corsage pin to the glue then to the back of the star which picks it up, position it on the cardstock and press down with a finger. I used Diamond Glaze to double layer the glitter paper.
-Those are 1/8” red strips glued next the green so they are both at the same level on the card and it certainly saves on cardstock.
-I used the evergreen tree from Lovely as Tree (Stampin Up) to stamp the green. The panels are only stamped on the ends and I placed the edge of the cardstock to one side of the tree trunk.
Tools: Cuttlebug die Snowflakes #2, paper stumps, corsage pin

Wow! I love everything about this card. Thanks for posting such detailed instructions as to how you did it and the great hint for how to glue on small pieces.

I really like this card, you did a lovely job with the coloring. I am adding this to my favs to CASE the general idea later. I will NEVER be able to get the coloring to look as nice as yours!

I think your card is beautiful, but I especially like all the detailed explanation. I will have to try your glue on wax paper idea next time I've got tiny things to glue. I usually use a glue pen, but it's still messy and tedious. Thanks for sharing.
