Hi! This card was made for today's Free 4 All Challenge: The Great White Way.
Now, you may be interested to know that my oldest son, now in the Army, had always wanted to be an actor. He attended numberous workshops, was enrolled at the theatre magnet school, and was pretty darn good...Except...he had 2 left feet, couldn't sing, and was not "pretty." However, he got PLENTY of Character Actor Parts. You know, the Character actor is the actor who is ALWAYS working! They are the best friend, the wacky neighbor, the mean or stupid boss...Never the headliner, but ALWAYS working! So, my oldest, ever the LAZY child, decided he'd rather write, direct, and stage manage, (since those folks didn't work once the play was running!) Eight years ago, his school put on "The Frog Prince" muscial, Directed and Book by Nick. (That means he wrote the play,)It was FANTASTIC! The lighting, singing, dancing, WRITING, and of course the DIRECTING were FABULOUS! It received FANTASTIC reviews, and my son was offered a full ride to a local university for the theatre department. Of course we all know that once it's handed to you, you don't want it anymore...So, he went into the Army.
The card was inspired by the "Frog Prince" play. I used some scraps from the I Have the Blues....And the Greens Premium Paper Craft Pack. I added in the Crown Charm and the mini dragonfly charm for some "bling!" The bottom layered die cut is the new Tim Holtz Sizzix Styled Label. I LOVE how it compliments the Spellbinders Fancy Label. The background focal layer was stamped with ferns and cat tails. The Frog was stamped, cut out and sponged with Hybrid Inks.
Finished card size: 4 3/4" square
Total time to create: 41 minutes...(I had a difficult time deciding upon plays!)
