Well, it's that time again, time for all of us MFT Junkies to hit the stamps and ink in hopes of being a guest DT for MFT... this week Amy and Megan challenged us to use Book print or Music sheets in our project somewhere... As LUCK WOULD HAVE IT I had just gone shopping at my LSS and she has sheet music at 25* a page, so I tore some out of the book... tee hee... LOVE IT....
When I first saw this stamp set from Amanda Baird "dance the night away" I *instantly* had Marilyn Monroe pop into my head...SO, using sheet music, and the Amanda Baird in my head, I went to work... I used SU RR for my base mounted the sheet music onto black. I then placed Jody's *awesome* pop dots on the back as I new the panel would be heavy and these STICK FOREVER!!!!!, I reached then for my MFT Ribbons, Joanne uses double ribbon often and I like the look so I tried it with some MFT Red and Black ribbons, then of course another take off of Joanne's cards was the buttony bow and I used a red button from MFT Summer Collection was needed, not wanting to break a rule (tee hee) I dressed the button with some black twine-y stuff and tied it on the black ribbon. There...
I stamped my image onto a MFT Creme Perfect Panel and then grabbed my stamp set "Going Places" and having seen a card by Kerry J that was AWESOME I stamped the city scape behind Marilyn using masking... I then colored the buildings with my silver glitter pen by Marvy Uchida. I got outm y trusty ruler and black fine tip sharpie and drew in the sidewalk and the infamous vent. There was a gap that was necessary in my mind as the city scape is small so I made it look like water inbetween. I used my alligator clip and a pom pom ball to lightly ink up the sidewalk (london fog) water (Danube Blue) and the sky (Bahama Blue) all memento Dew Drops from MFT. **phew**
OK, then I paper pieced Ms Marilyn entirely EXCEPT her arms and face/hair. I double pieced her skirt and added some more of Jody's pop dots to give that skirt some lift, it was laid flat on the waist area and those pop dots have those itty pieces from the die cutting and they are thck enough but itty slivers so I used those.
Yesterday in my reading of 198 emails (been busy) Jen del Muro had a tutorial on making the glittery shiny letters and so I took a $1 chipboard word and cut the D off. I used versamark and perma stick heated dumped glitter, then poured on the glossy effects, I am NOT a neat person using this so this AM when I got up I had to get the old knife out and cut off the excess then took a file to the edges... I then masked off part of the phrase from the set and used "ance" placed the Sparkly shiny D on my card with a jody stick em and VIOLA
SHEW!!! I think typing up the info is tougher than the card itself! LOL
Good luck to all entrants as this is for the WOO HOO... Guest DT for the Month of April and a chance to rub shoulders with the who's who of stamping... MFT DT GALS!!! YAY!!!!
