I'm in a bit of a "stitched card" phase at the moment I guess - but I figure it's sort of the best of both worlds where I can combine an old hobby of mine (cross-stiching and crewel work) and my newer hobby of cardmaking into one! It is much easier to pack some cardstock, needle, thread and a few patterns to take on a holiday than to pack ink and stamps and punches...
This little Flower Heart pattern is from the Form-A-Lines Stitching Cards website. The stitching is very simple and goes quickly. Purchasing a needle threader at Wally World sped up the process considerably. Never used to have trouble threading my needle!!
I did manage to include a bit of stamping on this one - the sentiment on the front and on the inside are stamped in Real Red. For those that know about my "punch addiction" I've managed to round my corners and punch my sentiment panel. There are also a bunch of glorious red hearts punched out and glued on the inside...
The pearls were a Christmas RAK from my sweet SCS friend whiterockmama - Thanks Marisa!
This qualifies for three challenges this week:
The Treehouse Thursday challenge was to use a flower and a butterfly...
The StampinB challenge was to use a butterfly, a flower and a die-cut. I may be pushing it a bit but my Punch Pal Pam and I have decided that punched pieces and die-cuts can pretty much qualify as the same thing - so I'm going to say that my modern label punch is die-cut and stick with that theory. Besides, the StampinB site says there are NO RULES except to have fun. And I did have fun creating this Valentine.
Stamp Simply Challenge was to use Red and a Heart.
Thanks for stopping by!

Heather, you are blazing hot with the stitiching and I love these stitched hearts and butterflies. Then, you go and hit all these challenges with this beautiful card. Way to go!!!! Hey, maybe Pam could do stitchin' like this since she has never been able to conquer that awesome sewing machine I sent her. Now, about that needle threader...if you run out, I have several. LOL
Before I found this hobby (that takes all my time), I used to needlepoint. I have unfinished and unstarted pieces everywhere. Too bad.

Ms. Heather, this is drop dead gorgeous. I didn't know you were into stitching like this. I LOVE stitching of any kind, so this is a true winner according to me, The Fruitcake. LOL!! I'm glad to see you also satisfied your punching addiction along with the stitching. I was on the lookout for that. BTW, you always keep me in "stitches" with your comments on my cards. Screw loose, heartless, popping buttons, lost my marbles, flaky - is there no end to your wit???? Too funny. TFS!! P.S. I might have popped some buttons, but looks like you have popped some stitches!!! LOL!!

This is wonderful! I used to stitch a lot too, but my eyesight isn't what it used to be! Love the stitiching on your card! Great Valentine. TFS

Heather, I just learned 2 very interesting things about you: you love crewel work and you can do more than one challenge at a time. Neither of these can I do or would even attempt. What you've done on this card is simply amazing. You and your needle obviously go together so well. What a great card. Good to see you in the gallery tonight!
