This week at MotherMark's tea party, we're going to Rapunzel's new salon, Classy Castle Cuts. Her marketing efforts have failed to bring in the clients, so now we've been enlisted to bring the one thing that makes a salon successful; GOSSIP!
Before I became a stay-at-home Mom, I was a hairstylist. I couldn't believe my luck in choosing a career where I got paid to socialize all day! My regular clients always looked forward to my 'stories', and heaven help me if I didn't have a good one to share....
Last summer my sister-in-law and her family went on a camping trip to the New England states, along with several other families. They were camping in a 5th wheel that my sister-in-law had nicknamed 'the nightmare on wheels', because they had nothing but bad luck with it, right from it's maiden trip, when her husband backed it into their campsite and a branch took the air conditioning unit right off of the top of the camper.
While they were touring the beautiful eastern USA, they got seperated from the rest of their party, and were driving along a narrow two-lane highway at 10 o'clock in the night, when they came to a low bridge. They debated a bit, then, because there was no room for them to turn around on the road, they decided to drive under the bridge. The truck made it through fine, but they forgot to take into account the height of the camper and ended up taking the roof right off of it!
According to my uncle, who drove commercial transport trucks for 30 years, this is not a completely uncommon occurance. Even he had turned his eighteen wheeler into a convertable when he drove under an unmarked bridge in the dark....
Anyway, even though my sister-in-law's camping trip was ruined and her camper wasn't replaced until the season was over, the story does have a happy ending.
This card is for her husband. The sentiment is computer generated. On the outside the card says, 'Wishing you a year filled with blue skies' and the inside says, '...and High Bridges! Happy Birthday'
Thank you MotherMark for the fun challenge, and thank you all for looking!

OMG, I laughed so hard, my eyes are leaking. I nearly took the top off a big ol' U-haul (because who really drives anything that big anyway?) and this story I can so relate to. I love the card and the card design used with all those sets, just perfect. Thanks for sharing the story

Good to see you Darla! Giggle! Loved your story! If your sister and her family visited the new hair salon of Rapunzle's me thinks they just might have an issue with Neil and the moat gate! Yikes, talk about taking some heads off!
Don't know if you have talked to Anne yet but Derek has gone lazy on us and has quit transporting us to the castle so we might have to highjack this camper.....maybe it wouldn't have trouble floating under the moat gate like it did getting under the bridge!
What a story! YOur card is gonna be such a giggle, such a hit! You go girl! Love it!
