Hi! This card was made for today's Sketch Challenge.
I have to admit, I REALLY wanted to use this image today. It's a Sneak Peek of next month's release called: Speedy the Cat's Friends. It's a stamp of Koko, one of our Siamese cats. He and Speedy the Cat are best of feline friends, and sleep together on Markie's bed while Markie is in school.
The sentiment was Markie's idea. Poor Koko gets into LOTS of trouble...Just this evening he got his head stuck in an empty Diet Coke 12 pack box...He panicked and started screeching at the top of his lungs. We soon had 5 other cats, 3 dogs, 2 adults and Markie screaming! Then, he started to RUN around the dining room with that box on his head! He could see, as there was a hole on the other side of the box, but he kept running around the table legs, tried to get under the china cabinet and landed in the cat food bowl. Currently, Mark is STILL in the kitchen trying to vacuum cat food from under the kitchen island. Seriously, if I had a video camera, I'd WIN America's Funniest Videos!!! I have 3 band-aids on my arm and poor Markie has a bump under his left eye. You'd think we were mugged or had been in an accident instead of trying to subdue and free a crazy cat from a box!LOL
The image was stamped in Burnt Umber onto watercolor paper. Next, I used an aqua painter to color in the head and body. I added Copic eyes and nose. The background was sponged in with Palette Cote d'Azure.
Finished size: 6" x 4 3/4"
Total time, minus cat-tastrophe: 42 minutes

Gorgeous! Wonderful cat image and it is colored so perfectly! I love the earthy colors you chose too, and that fantastic border! Love the story of Koko's escapades too!

Cute story... and card to match... LOL.. cats are so funny... ours horses use to run from the tiny calico I had... that is funny.. but the horses were 2600 pounds each... huge ones... Belgium's... and used for logging... not the kind of animal that should be scared... so cats are a funny lot of animal... maybe they are really humans in cat clothing??? Do you think??? Great card Faith...
