In pursuing my goal of using older sets that have laid unappreciated for awhile, I was reminded of Happy Hearts and the coming of Valentines Day. The new heart set is so similar, I can't justify getting it so am resurrecting this one.
I thank the creative soul who inspired me to add a touch of blue to the valentine colours. I love it. I'm sorry I didn't favorite the card, and I haven't been able to find it again.
Also instead of going to my embossing folders, I hunted up the BG Soft Swirls. These retired sets haven't lost their beauty, we have just been dazzled by new things... I am enjoying using them again. The corner flourishes are stamped with an old stam I got out of a clearance box at a LSS years ago, and I don't know who made it.

Well, let me be the first to say 'great card, my friend'! I too have a set (or two) of heart stamps that need to be dusted off and put to use - and soon! The touch of blue adds a very nice bit of colour to the usual red/pink/white Valentine theme... And I also have that bg stamp - I agree, the 'old' sets are still just as appealing as when we got them, they just need to yell a little louder from bottom the drawers and the back of the shelves they're hiding on! Have a great day...

So pretty. Love the blue with the pink. Love that you used the soft swirls. I have that stamp too. You just may have started a new trend. What is old is new!

Beautiful! The blue really is a wonderful addition to the traditional colours. I love all the dimension you put in this card. You know me and hearts - I can never have too many.
Wow! This is so pretty. I agree with you about the Happy Hearts set being like the new one! The combination of sets you used to make this card is perfect...and I love the blue with the Typical Valentine's Colors. TFS! :-)

I feel the exact same way as you do about the retired sets! There is nothing wrong with them. And unless you are a demo you should use them. I love your card too and the touch of blue is a very welcomed change from the traditional colors. Nice job!!
