I don't know about this card - I planned to use perfect plum and white, but I was going to color in the flower; well, every time I tried, it turned into a mud color - used chalks, tried watercoloring and tried watercolor crayons - they were all a "No Go"! So, what do I do when I can't color, I cheat and paper piece. Instead of using patterned paper, I thought I would try it with the perfect plum cardstock. I embossed the flower in white on perfect plum, then ran it through the CB with the Swiss Dots ef.
I was going to leave the card pretty plain, but it just didn't look good with that flower and the layers, so I added fancy corners with my MS rings corner punch and then added a piece to the center and used the MS rings border punch and added some dry embossing to the center piece with the Frills embossing borders. It was still not right, so I added purple pearls to each corner piece and 2 smalls ones on both sides of the greeting.
It still needed at least one more thing to spice it up, so I outlined the white nestie with some dazzling diamonds. I popped up the first layer, both nesties and the flower on dimensionals.
This is a 5.25 x 5.25 square card.
I'm still not completely happy with this, but everything I tried to add, just made it look "added on", so I figured I better stop. Guess my mojo hasn't returned after doing all those Christmas cards!! But, I have at least 8 cards to make in January, so I have to keep trying!!
Happy New Year to everyone and if you have a chance, let me know what you think for better or for worse!!!

For better! I like it. They have this thing on-line when you google SU color wheel, you put the color in and it brings up complimentary colors. The only other thing I could think of is to use one of those on that center border, but honestly, it is so pretty just the way it is. And the design is awesome

O.K., my birthday is months away (thankfully) but I'll take this one. Love the perfect plum and it is gorgeous paper pieced with the cardstock. Now, we all know you cannot make a plain card so just quit trying. You have to have some bling blang going on. Hey, did you get a new Frills border punch and MS corner punch for Christmas? They are beautiful whenever you got them. BUT, you know that won't make up for my Janome. Too bad. Oh yea, what you said about my MMSC card, I just love to tick off the Fruitcake. ;) Back to your gorgeous card, I know the receiver will be turning flips over this one. It is GAW-GEOUS!!!!!

Silly stamper, this is the all american perfect card. I think you already know that but you just want to play a new part in the play today. I love the solid paper flower. Ooooh la la and look at your new punches. I dont have any luck with MS punches. I personally think theyre junk, but what do I know. Love the bling too. Oh but wait a minute, where's the green, red, sparkles and snow? dont tell me you're not working on next year's cards. Beuatiful card Fruitcake.

Boy, these cards can sure fight us sometimes, don't you think? However, I certainly think you won the battle, Pam. This card is so pretty and elegant. Love your corner treatments with that punch. Happy New Year!
