Wow, TLC252 Merry Birdhouse Challenge was so much fun. I did it just for fun but now I think I will keep it and place special treasures in it for DH every Christmas. You know, kind of like *Find the Pickle on the Christmas tree* and get a special treat
Sorry that I had to use a card holder to display the birdhouse and that it distracts from the image but it was all that I could find to hang it on.
I printed out the template provided by Brenda Quintana, a.k.a. Qbee. Then I stamped snowflakes all over it and heat embossed it with white embossing powder w/glitter. The snowflakes on the roof were not embossed as I didn't want them to compete with the glittery icicles. I punched holes in the roof and put in eyelets that I colored with COPICs to match the roof. I did this so that taking the ribbon in and out over the years it wouldn't rip the roof holes. I threaded a fine gold cord through the ribbon to hang on the tree.
A reverse image stamp was used with the candy cane so I would have two facing in opposite directions. I colored them with a waterbased marker and gel pen. The wreath was placed on dimensionals and red Stickles was used for the berries. Behind the wreath is a black circle I hand cut, then colored the right side with colored pencils to show depth at the entrance. The design at the roof peak is made using negative images from a Cuttlebug die (I save everything!). The icicles were punched from a cardstock called Lily White, sugar coated cardstock by Doodlebug Design.
I hope you enjoy looking at this little house as much as I enjoyed making it. It's so good for the soul just to play Thanks, Lynn, for a fun challenge.

Love all the festive winter details on this - the snowflakes on the roof, the icicles, candy canes, lovely wreath. Definitely this deserves a place on the tree every year. So Scandinavian looking...

Very pretty. I love the snow and icicles on your roof. I am so impressed with the many different ways people are decorating these birdhouses. They are such a great vehicle for creativity. My first one was pretty plain as I was just trying to see how it went together. So many ideas; so little time! :-)
