We have had a fantastic week here at "Leelulumkin Towers!" Our gorgeous little boy has started school for the first time and I am thrilled to say that he loves it!
Leo has special needs and developmental delay, so as you can imagine, my Husband and I were rather nervous with how he would cope.. However our worries were needless and I cannot praise the special school he attends highly enough. As a family we consider ourselves incredibly fortunate that he has been given a place in such an outstanding school!
He is our only child and having given up a full time "outside" job to being a full time "Mum" when he was born, you can imagine just how empty the house feels now during the day!
Anyway, the reason I am boring you will all of this is to say what a luxury I am finding it to be able to craft during the day! As my craft room is shared with Leo's playroom, I am asking for trouble if I start to get my stash out when he is about!
So here you are viewing the VERY FIRST card made during the daylight hours! LOL! As I have explained before, Halloween is nowhere near as such a big thing here in the UK as it is in the US. This is changing however and I am thoroughly enjoying making a few cards for Leo's teachers and classmates - All 4 of them!
As you can see, the card itself involves no stamping just a whole lot of paper piecing, punching and matting & layering.
I have a sneaky affection for the 3D bat - I don't have a die-cutter so he was cut freehand from black card, then given eyes and a mouth with a white gel pen. Not sure if you can see from the photo but his wings stand proud of the page! I had a bit of a mad session making these so expect to see loads more "batty" cards very soon!
Thanks so much for looking and have a "Hauntingly Happy Halloween!" x
