Dirty Dozen challenge: Animal theme, Use shades of blues
For the animal theme, I used the owl from the Forest Friends set to illustre my "night owl" theme.
For the blues, I combined Night of Navy, Blue Brocade and Bashful Blue cardstock and the Oxford papers. I added two blue ribbons, used a Night of Navy marker, two shades of blue brads, a blue button and blue floss. I also used blue flocking on the Medallion stamp in the background (behind the journaling block)
The lesson for me here was, Never throw away those less-than-perfect pictures - you never know when they might come in handy! The picture at left was taken out of revenge by my sister while I was sleeping in the car after I had done the same thing to her. The picture taken at right was taken by my cousin while we were out for a cup of coffee to escape the camera after I had snapped a couple of pictures of her. (Notice a theme?) Anyway, one was out of focus, the other one not so flattering and didn't have a story behind it, but it turns out they were perfect here because you see me hanging out at night and sleeping in daylight. Goes with my "Night Owl" story, dontcha think?
The title was created with white rub-ons from the Fashion District pack. I rubbed them on an acetate and stitched it in place on my page with blue needlework floss and a button.
The owl was stamped on Shimmery White cardstock, punched with a circle punch and matted with a circle punched out of vellum.
Journaling reads, "When I was younger, my parents used to repeat to me that having to go to bed was not a punishment. 28 years later, it still feels that way when bedtime rolls around! At night, there's always one more chapter to read, one more card to finish, one more TV show to watch... On the rare occasions when I'm in bed before 11 p.m., you can bet I am coming down with something. I would love to have a natural sleep rythm more in line with everybody else's because getting out of bed to go to work is always quite painful!"

This is fabulous. Love your collage. (And I'm totally with you on the whole night owl thing. I've always loved to stay up really late.. In fact there have been times when I see the sunrise and realize I really must go get a couple hours of sleep! I always told my parents that if God had wanted us to go to bed early (before midnight), he wouldn't have made the night so fun!)
