The Flourishes challenge this week, as set by Linda, was chalking. I like my chalks - mostly I use some old broken chalk pastels that I got from the damaged goods corner when I worked in fine art supplies.
For this card, I chalked the edges of an A2 card with blue chalk. The main panel is trimmed just a bit smaller. I stamped the big vine in Versamark, and then scraped pink chalk over the flowers, green over the vine and a bit of blue up at the top. With a soft brush I brushed it gently on and tapped off the excess, and then sprayed with fixative. The butterfly is from Penny Black - again I stamped in Versamark and scraped chalk over, brushed and sprayed with fixative before trimming. I stamped the bodies directly onto the card with a marker, and then attached the wings with glue at the bases, while the tips are up on foam. I went around the edge of the stamped layer with green Distress Stickles. The bottom looked a bit bare, so I made a little tag, stamped a sentiment on, tied it with natural raffia and stuck it up on foam tape.
Fun challenge - thanks, Linda and the Flourishes Team.

You surely know your chalks Sabrina. I keep coming back to your card while commenting, it's so fabulous. I love all the soft colors, the blue especially. Love how it looks like the butterflies are growing like the flowers. Beautifuly done my friend. TFS
