I didn't use a particular sketch challenge for this card, just kind of started playing with it and came up with this. I wanted blue for the top for the "sky" and sand patterned paper for the bottom for the "sand"! It's another masculine card. Why do I get stuck doing so many masculine cards?
I found this starfish and thought I would make it into my next ocean/beach themed card. I still had some tiny seashells and a little hemp twine left from Stamp Muse's RAK #thanks M# and some crushed seashells I had bought awhile back to do the little border of shells at the bottom. I remembered Stamp Muse used her rope border punch on her shell card that I loved, so I incorporated that into the card too. Her lovely card is here:
I used the mesh ef on the sky and the swiss dots ef on the sand papers. I can't believe I did it, but I sanded over the embossing to give it a more distressed look. I even rubbed the brown pad around all the sides to give a little distressing. Lovely Linda would be SO PROUD of me as I don't like to tear or distress even though I love it on other peoples' cards!! Went outside the box again Linda!!
I had some old mesh rolls #I forgot the name of it all of a sudden, but it used to be real popular, but I don't see it any more# that I cut up for corner pieces and above the starfish and I knotted the hemp twine above the stafish just to give it a little more interest. Without sparkles, ribbon, pearls and what not, it's hard to have a feel complete.
Anyway, this is what I've come up with. It will be hand delivered as it's pretty fragile. Thanks so much for taking the time to look and if you have a chance, let me know what you think!

Way to go Pam!! Love the sponging around the edges - isn't it great to do something outside of our 'comfort zone!' This is fabulous Pam - one day you are going to be thrilled you have made these masculine cards - we struggle with them...you are a natural! I love your nautical theme and the way you have used the colours and earthy elements! Stunning work my friend - and yes, I am proud of you!!! Thanks for sharing...I always look forward to it!!! {{{hugs}}}

Pretty soon you're going to forget you ever had boxes you're spending so much time out of them! You do so many guy cards because you're very good at them! And with all the goodies you've added to make this card spectacular, who'd miss the fact that you didn't add pearls or glitter or ribbon! And hey, there's punching on it so it must be complete!! Great card... I'll check in when I get another chance to see what you're busy creating while I'm off on the ball diamonds doing photos with DH...

OOh, a beach card! This may be my favorite of all! Just stunning. I hope that the person receiving this card takes very good care of it since you said it was fragile. It is too beautiful to be damaged. Love those embossing folders and how you made them look so beachy and perfect for this card. The mesh corners are awesome. I may have to take lessons from you...at least, Im watching! Awesome work and just the best card!!

I think you did a great job, it is nice to be challenged by starting with one element and building from there, nice thought has gone into this creation, job well done!
