received the new Pagemaps newsletter and IÂ’m always so excited to see when they include Cardmaps because I immediately print out the page for sketch inspiration and I found it right away.
Using the colors from my inspiration piece, I created a long card base (this one measures (9” X 3-1/2” – a strange choice, I know, but I wanted a long card and one that also fit nicely into a business envelope. I then cut a piece of Taken with Teal and ran that through my Big Shot using an embossing folder. I didn’t want just 3 squares down the card, to I rounded opposite corners and place the elements at different orientations to give the card just a little more interest.
I stamped my butterfly onto Cool Caribbean using Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder, then to add highlights, I used a Copic marker to add some deeper shades
I love all the awesome crystals from Zva Creative.com. I also use my pearls from Zva as my butterfly body and attached a little wire for antennae.
