Did you ever have a card that just didn't want to go the way you wanted it to. Well, this is the card. I'm sorry also for using the scanner instead of my camera to take my pictures. I hate seeing the smudge mark on my photos.
I made this card for the Featured Stamper known as Beate. She has a wonderful gallery full of tutorials and pretty cards. I chose this card Asian Thanks by Beate at Splitcoaststampers. I used an image that was a little larger than what she has on her card, so my card is a 5x7.
I started out by using the mme dp with the cb textile emboss folder and sponged the edges with black ink. Adhered to black c/s. I used the famous Faith (Markie's mom) dots on the edges with the Signo pen. I stamped the image with black ink onto white c/s. I colored the butterflies with prismacolor pencils, blending stumps, and odorless mineral spirits. I added a bit of darkness to the top outer edge of the butterflies with the black colored pencil and using the OMS also. I used the colored marker for the dots on the image as well. It doesn't show in the photo well, but I used 2-way glue lightly and added glitter to the butterflies. I used the the maroon chalk for the sponging around the image using a dauber. Adhered to c/s. Also added the white dots. The image is held on with foam tape. I never think to use hardware on my cards, so this was perfect for me to use this one here. It is a slider. I stamped the sentiment onto white c/s, trimmed to fit, and used tacky tape to secure it inside the hardware. The hardware is held on with foam tape as well as tacky tape to make sure it will hold. I wanted to place this where Beate has hers, but it would of made it too thick. It is a bit on the heavy side, but not much. Adhered to card. I wasn't really sure on the sponging, so I went ahead with it. I hope you like it. TFL! Have a wonderful Sunday.
