As a practicing Catholic, I find this card really disrespectful. I wish you would consider removing it from this website. Catholic-bashing is not a good idea...
Deb, these are fabulous! Don't you even consider taking them down. I betcha the Franciscans at my school would have laughed their heads off. I've never known a Catholic without a sense of humor.

I don't think that these inchies were intended AT ALL to be disrespectful. I think they were simply looking at a humorous view of nuns. Art is allowed to be humorous and it's understandable that not everyone will like all types of work.

disrespectful is NOT how I would categorize these lovelies.....I would say 'cute', 'funny', 'original', 'well-made', 'eye-catching', 'artistic', 'unique', 'pleasing-to-the-eye', 'sharp', and, oh yeah. SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS!

there are alot of different takes on nuns, in every sense of the word. Movies, plays etc etc etc. Unless it is something you are persoanlly swapping, I would just overlook it. There are things to offend different people everywhere you look.......this is minimal IMHO.

I have several nuns and exnuns in my aquaintance-and not a single one of them would be offended by something like this. Probably the only REAL nuns in the pictures are the ones on a bumper car-that picture was in a popular calendar called "Nun Fun" and the Shame on You and Watch It. Ummm the chihuahua is obviously dressed for Halloween-so no offense there. I remember playing field hockey with an East Cleveland Catholic girls school in the early 70's. The nuns pulled their skirts up from behind-between their legs-tucked the skirts into their belts making themselves bloomers-they then tucked in their crucifix pulled out their whistles and tied a babooshka over their veils and ran up and down the field as referees! They were tough and they were fun-a type of woman apart! I think that they are very complex and interesting women. And I think the only offense in art is censorship.

Please do not not take these down. They are in my faves and in no way do I as a Christian find them disrespectful. This is art and if you dont like it, dont look at it.
