I've been itching to use a fantastic image sent to me by the sweet and generous Anne Ryan for some time now.
Today, I finally ventured forth to try my hand at it. I enlarged the stamped image that Anne sent so that I would have a practice piece. But I wasn't that disappointed with the way the colored image turned out, so I used it on a larger format card.
I colored the image with pearlescent paints, topped that over bronze Currency stock with Swiss Dots that have been colored with a blue gel pen. This is layered over gold Currency which has been CB'd with Houndstooth and Swiss Dots.
The message is embossed on leatherette cardstock and features a tail of quilted gold ribbon.
The humongous embellishment in the upper top corner is a leather and brass earring which was still lurking in my household since the 80's when everything was big and chunky!
Thanks for looking and have a great evening!

I'm speechless, Divine Ms M! There are no words that come to mind to describe this gorgeous work of art. I'm totally taken with what you've done. I've read and reread your narrative and am still sitting here in total amazement. Wow, girl, you sure are a genuine artist waiting to happen. This is a show stopper for certain! Yikes!

ooops, I forgot...I read your first comment ... and yes, would it not be fantastic to have a blog we all of us can just dream about becoming the Divine Ms. M.
Got your pm. Guess I wont be emailing you tomorrow, since it is Christmas! Wow, that's a pretty darn impressive menu. If you have an extra place setting, call me. I should be able to sit down with the family around 3 pm. Enjoy tomorrow, girl! I'm sure it will be as delicious as the creations you place in the gallery!

I really like the way your trimmed the image to fit perfectly in between the dots - and the sentiment with the leather and ribbon, and earring look perfect to go with the high fashion image.
Typical that having enlarged the image for a practice piece, it's perfect. I learned the hard way that next time I do need a practice piece.
