Stef gave us some lovely choices today. I was tempted by the pillows, and in fact this is my second choice...Well, actually it's my third, but for some reason I don't have a photograph of the dragonfly embroidery I made my sister, so I had to ditch that one. The flowers in this reminded me of a jigsaw I bought in Barcelona. We were meant to have that some of that blue sky today, and I'd planned a trip to the Botanic Gardens, but it's grey clouds, so I am at home instead .
I used this picture here http://www.flutterclutter.com/shop/s...ducts/1851.jpg. As my card last week was very loosely inspired, I've gone the other way this time and gone more for re-creating the inspiration piece. I loved the texture in it, and at first I was going to use tissue paper to give the crumpled look. But the tissue was sitting on top of my thin acetate, so I decided to use acetate and paint to get the brush-strokes effect. In real life you can see it better, but the light on the acetate rather means that the cream paint doesn't show in the picture :-(.
I drew the bottom wire with a Sharpie, stamped on the birds from Flourishes with StazOn and drew the second wire. Turned it over and painted with blue and cream acrylic paints on the back. While it was drying I cut out some rough circles in red, sponged the edges with black, stuck them onto the aqua card and cut out round them. Again sponged the edges with black.
Plan A was to use eyelets or photo corners to attach the acetate to the backing, but in the end I went for spray-mount, layering it onto white card first, and trimming the acetate down to size. Then it's layered onto red and aqua with the edges sponged with black, and then onto a black card base.

Your stunning flowers immediately caught my eye, Sabrina! Wow! This is a stunning work of art! Thanks for describing in detail how you did it all. It was a lot of work, and it sure is artistically cool!

This really came out pretty. Love the bird and the way you created the scene.
