Praise God that we got our power back on Thursday night and cable back just last night. This has been the longest 12 days of my life. What a storm! I lived in NY for 14 years and never experienced anything like this and hope to never again. I sure do have some stories to tell you though, like the 12-hour shift at work and leaving at 1 in the morning because I was bound and determined to get home and got caught in the 2nd round of the storm. I work 6 miles from home and never got closer than 2 miles after 3.5 hours of trying to get home. I never knew there were so many ways to my house. I'm also still recovering from bruising myself head-to-toe from moving icy trees from the road so that I could get home. Just when I thought that I had a chance, I ran into trees just too big for me. Looking back, it was pretty foolish to try to get home but I thank God he protected me and my girls through all of this. My husband and son were at home. I have many projects to share and you can see all of them at my blog, www.cindycoutts.com. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. The damage is massive and cleanup is going to be quite the undertaking. The entire landscape of our town has changed. My own neighborhood looks completely different.

Thank God for your protection and your peace. Looked at your blog pic's.
We use propane gas for our furnace, and we added two wall heaters (propane) that don't use electric in our sun room and in the basement/family room and it has kept us warm many times when the el went out. We also have camping gear that we used to cook Christmas dinner on one year when the el went out.
