I made this for Cindy's teapot challenge this week - check out her blog here http://mothermark.blogspot.com/2009/...uesday-32.html to see an absolutely adorable teapot and amazing card.
It's also another recessed frame from yesterday's TLC.
When I saw that teapot this morning before work I fell in love with it. I thought I'd do something with punches, and then I thought I had a little china duck somewhere, not much bigger than my thumb, that I could do something with.
Well, while I was trying to find where in the house my cute little china duck could be, I found this big (I'm talking about 8 inches) one sitting - with all my spare teapots. The little one, and the one that I only use for Lapsang, and the old one that has cracked but I'm not throwing it out yet because the one I bought to replace it drips.
So, I took a photo of my duck that lives with my teapots, and made a little frame using brown Bazzill and some pink Core'sinations. I embossed the Bazzill before cutting it, and sponged both the inner and outer edges, and the edges of the photo, with dark brown ink.
After that I thought I'd better add some of the flowers I noticed on the pot. I didn't really want to add them to the duck, so I stamped a Rhonna Farrer flourish at the bottom of the card and added some little pink flowers from Embrace Life.
Thanks for the tea party today, Cindy. We have snow - like serious snow for Ireland - and I think I need more than tea. Hot port, if you have it? In fact, it's getting quite dark in here as the fresh snow is settling on my skylight windows. I can't see out anymore...

OMG! Adorable and creative! Little did I know that I was gonna be sending people on a duck hunt in their houses! Especially their dark houses! Holy cow, does it snow often in Ireland????
Anyway I love your little ducky and I feel a connection with him because he too loves to reside with teapots! Snort! Its an adorable duck, a great picture, a really cute card and a challenge nailed!! Love that you put the flowers in!
Take care...stay warm...I guess ice tea was a bad idea for this duck day!! Thanks for coming.....and for the link and kind words!

What a cute teapot card...this is so like the one that Cindy has, maybe they are distant cousins!! Wonderful picture, recessed window, and stamping. I'll see if I can join the tea party later.

I would say that setting among the teapots is agreeing with this cute little duck! Putting it in a frame from yesterday's challenge was quite clever. The flowers at the bottom are the perfect addition.
